Banco ABC Brasil is a financial institution with a broad portfolio that serves both mid-to-large companies and individual investors. It offers high-value, tailor-made financial solutions to meet its clients\u2019 specific needs.<\/p>\n
Security is a top priority in Banco ABC\u2019s operations \u2014 forming a solid foundation for its own growth and that of its clients. The bank continuously invests in technology, risk management, and operational excellence. This is where Pier Cloud\u2019s platform came in to support and accelerate that evolution.<\/p>\n

Before implementing Pier Cloud, Banco ABC faced key hurdles:<\/p>\n
Cost management and optimization:<\/strong> The need to identify and act on cost-saving opportunities within AWS.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Compliance and security:<\/strong> Ensuring operations aligned with best practices and regulatory standards.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Application modernization:<\/strong> Migrating applications to more efficient, cloud-native models.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Team focus and prioritization:<\/strong> Overloaded teams struggling to prioritize tasks due to operational complexity.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n FinOps maturity:<\/strong> A need to understand where the bank stood in the Cloud Financial Management journey and how to evolve.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Lack of financial visibility:<\/strong> Banco ABC couldn\u2019t identify the unit cost of PIX transactions or those related to Open Finance. This created governance issues and limited executive decision-making.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n <\/p>\n The partnership with Pier introduced tools and practices that transformed how these challenges were addressed<\/strong>. Key highlights:<\/p>\n 1.Lighthouse:<\/strong> This level of visibility didn\u2019t exist at Banco ABC before \u2014 and it was crucial for the executive team to understand the financial behavior of its transactions and where to direct efforts. Through Lighthouse, Pier Cloud\u2019s platform uses S3<\/strong> to collect AWS billing data from the client. We then work on the ETL and data processing<\/strong> to build the cost allocation and visibility tailored to the client\u2019s context. We use Athena<\/strong> to query the information.<\/p>\n 2.CCA (Cloud Compliance Analyzer): <\/strong>Using custom rules developed in the platform, Pier made available insights into cost-saving opportunities, compliance, and security<\/strong>. The team began using CCA daily to identify where to focus efforts for cost reduction. In addition, CCA helped highlight which instances could go through a rightsizing process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The CCA collects information via SDK<\/strong> using an assume role<\/strong> in the client\u2019s accounts. With the data gathered, we help clients identify idle resources<\/strong>, apply best practices<\/strong>, and propose technological upgrades<\/strong> \u2014 contributing to the optimization and efficiency of the client\u2019s infrastructure.<\/p>\n 3. Maturity Assessment: <\/strong>Pier Cloud conducted the AWS Cloud Financial Management Assessment<\/strong> within Banco ABC\u2019s environment. Based on the results, we defined a set of clear, prioritized action plans<\/strong> to evolve the bank\u2019s FinOps and governance capabilities.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Increased FinOps maturity:<\/strong> Clear priorities and faster execution, supported by structured processes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Cost and compliance efficiency:<\/strong> CCA enabled fast, precise decisions with measurable impact.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Time optimization for teams:<\/strong> Lighthouse made it easy for teams to understand resource usage and act faster.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Banking-grade financial visibility:<\/strong> For the first time, the bank gained visibility into the costs of its main financial products (PIX, Open Finance, credit card transactions, and current accounts). <\/p>\n Banco ABC is entering a <\/span>new phase<\/strong> in its FinOps journey, with strategic priorities on the horizon:<\/span><\/p>\n Application modernization:<\/strong> Continue migrating to cloud-native models for efficiency and performance gains.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Operational sustainability:<\/strong> Build a stronger foundation for scaling, while improving how the bank prioritizes in a complex environment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Expanded use of Pier Cloud:<\/strong> The partnership will remain a strategic pillar as the bank navigates new opportunities and challenges \u2014 solidifying its FinOps maturity.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cOur partnership with Pier Cloud has been extremely positive.
